We were back in the Bronx—and this time, we came with even more fresh food, more volunteers, and the same mission: to end food insecurity one neighborhood at a time.
This was our second distribution day, and being able to return to the Bronx meant so much to us.
We chose the Bronx because the need is significant. Families throughout the borough continue to face challenges accessing enough nutritious, affordable food. And there's something especially powerful about serving a community that is home to one of the country's largest food distribution hubs while so many families nearby still struggle to afford fresh groceries.
That's why Hope Near Me exists.
Healthy Food Shouldn't Be a Luxury
We've all heard someone say, "Eating healthy is expensive."
And honestly? They're right.
With the rising cost of groceries and the increasing financial pressure families are facing, buying fresh fruits, vegetables, quality protein, and dairy can feel out of reach.
For families already struggling to make ends meet, food insecurity isn't simply about whether there is something to eat. It's also about access to nutritious food.
At Hope Near Me, we believe families deserve more than whatever happens to be left over.
Our goal has always been—and will continue to be—fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, fresh chicken, fresh dairy, and fresh groceries.
Because food assistance should not mean sacrificing quality.

For us, this work has never been just about handing someone a bag of groceries.
It's about dignity.
It's about community.
It's about making sure families don't have to choose between paying a bill and buying groceries.
